2008 Kinetic Sculpture -
The Counterfeit Cadillac

Originally built in 1985 by George Stevens, a movie prop
designer, this sculpture is a full size replica of a 1963
Cadillac and weighs 800 pounds without pilots.  It was
first raced in 1992 as the "Counterfeit Cadillac", then in
1995 as the "Chips Ahoy."  The Cadillac was an exhibit in
the Ferndale Kinetic Museum for ten years before it
somehow found itself outside under a pile of berry
bushes!  All that could be seen was a back tail light!

Rescued by Elliot Naess in early 2008, it was restored
to racing glory in order to honor our Glorious Founder,
Hobart Brown.  The Counterfeit Cadillac raced "On a
Mission for Hobart!" with the Blues Brothers and
Sisters (racers from Arcata, Corvallis and Port
Townsend) in 2008.
